The pilgrimage

Last week we went down to Briggsville, WI, to visit the St. Philomena shrine. Previously, St. Philomena had two feast days on the calendar, now she has none. Traditionally, her feast day had been on August 11. Our group was there on the 10th for Mass, the rosary, and a procession around the church. All the young girls of the group brought up a flower to place at the statue of the great saint.

St. Philomena provided us with good weather and a wonderful day!!

Beautiful pictures - your title picture looks like some places I have been to in Ireland!

So nice to see the young people involved and learning about their faith. They are our hope for the future.

God bless

Brian:

The pics in my header are from Burrishoole Abbey in Newport (just north of Westport) County Mayo, Ireland, and in Vals, Graubunden, Switzerland.

Only part of our St. Philomena group made it down to the shrine, so there are more children involved! Many of the kids had tee-shirts that were made for the group that had St. Philomena on them and a saying from her litany on the back. It was a very nice time.

Hey Swissy,

Please consider joining the cub scout troop at St. A's. It is a lot of fun for the boys and their families.

Peace,

Swissy: I believe devotion to St. Philomena is growing. She may get her days back..well, she never lost them but you know...

Richard: Thanks for the info. I've been to the site a few times already!

Mum: We plan to start the second week in September. Some things, like science, have already begun just to get them done in a timely fashion.

Katie:
We'll probably see you there since my son just joined as a Tiger. We went to the picnic last week.

Cathy:
It would be nice if St. Philomena was back on the calendar!!

A friend just send me your link and I am so taken with the little children with thier St. Philomena t-shirts on that I would love to send you some of the new recently released St. Philomena 2-CD sets to hand out to them - would 20 be enough or do you need more. May God Bless you for introducing all of those children to such a wonderful Saint.

Swissy: Where's Weekend Kneeler Jeopardy? Vincenzo's been crying all weekend. I think he's even taking to drink.
