Weekend Kneeler Jeopardy
Have a warm and sunny weekend!!
Category: States
This US state boasts the largest number of Catholics per capita. (I'm not saying they vote in line with the Church!)
St. Alex says, please place your answer in the form of a question in the combox, and say a few Hail Marys while you wait for the answer to be revealed.
Demerits for using Google and other sneaky searches. Educated guesses are welcome and encouraged. Good luck!!

There are 3 which come to mind, i"m going with:
What is Louisiana?
I'm taking a wild guess....
What is Massachusetts?
Bede
Both good guesses, but both incorrect. Only 48 left in the running :)
I said I had 3 in mind, and 2 are down so the 3rd is:
What is Maryland?
Nuh uh. Not Maryland.
What is California?
Hi V!! Sorry, it's not CA.
I think I should give a little hint here. CA is on the wrong side of the Mississippi.
What is the state of inebriation?
What is a state of confusion?
What is a state of grace?
What is Florida?
I don't know what state mottos the first three belong to, but it ain't FL. Wrong side of the Mason Dixon line too. Oooh, getting narrowed down!!
What is New York?
Sorry V, not NY.
What is New Jersey?
Nope!
What is Rhode Island?
Sorry! Not Rhode Island!
What is Connecticut?
YOU GOT IT!!!!!!! At least according to the definitive source of Wiki, Connecticut has the highest percentage of Catholics. Just don't consult with any Kennedys though.
Congrats V!!!!!! Now you and Cathy are tied with one each. I think Ray and AA have two. Chris may have two too!
You may display the winning banner with pride ;}
I do have two! But only because I know weird things about graveyards....
Well, here it is, an hour late and I missed out again.
However, I would have surmised Rhode Island, just because it is so small. And wasn't Roger Williams a little more tolerant that the other colonial proprietors/colonialists?
I wouldn't have guessed Utah!
Cool! :}
Ray, several net sources indicate that it's Rhode Island.
Golly, gosh, gee. Seems my brain is really going to pot and that multi-tasking only makes things worse. Mea culpa. The answer really is Rhode Island!!! So V still gets it!!
I was just checking to see if anyone was paying attention.
Here'e the link showing RI has a significant number of Catlickers.

V gets brownie points for checking the facts. The great and powerful OZ (St. Alex) obviously is NOT infallible.
According to Wiki, West Virginia and Mississippi have a fewer percentage of Catholics than Utah!
"V gets brownie points for checking the facts."
Prefer Wookie Cookies.
I haven't bought the cookbook yet, but googled the recipe:
Wookie Cookies
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1. Preheat the oven to 375ยบ
2. Put the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a mixing bowl. Stir with the wooden spoon until well mixed. Set aside.
3. Put the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in another mixing bowl. Using the electric mixer set on high speed, beat together until well blended and creamy, about 3 minutes. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract. Add the flour mixture and stir with the wooden spoon until blended. Stir in the chocolate chips.
4. Scoop up a rounded tablespoonful of the dough and drop onto a baking sheet. Repeat until you have used up all the dough. Be sure to leave about 1 inch between the cookies because they spread as they bake.
5. Using pot holders, put the baking sheets in the oven. Bake until golden brown, about 10 minutes.
6. Again, using pot holders, remove the baking sheets from the oven. Lift the cookies from the baking sheets with a spatula, and place on cooling racks. Let cool completely.
Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
Thanks :}
I've tagged you for the Say something nice about a priest meme :)
Vin is still discontent. He doesn't want the recipes, he wants the cookies! He's probably waiting by his mail box.
