My doppelgänger

OK, this is probably of no interest to anyone but me, but it struck me as quite curious. Ray sent me this link to analyze my blog using the Myers-Briggs. When I was working as an engineer, I must've taken the Myers-Briggs more times than I can remember.

Nearly each time my result was ENTJ.

Oddly, my blog is INFP. Must be my more sensitive side coming through. Maybe I now have concrete proof that becoming a mom has changed me and turned my brain to mush. I think it probably has something to do with listening to Barney the Purple Dinosaur sing, "I love you, you love me" one too many times.

Here's the link in case you want to analyze your own or someone else's blog.

INFP - The Idealists
The meaning-seeking and unconventional type. They are especially attuned to making sure their beliefs and actions are congruent. They often develop a passion for the arts or unusual forms of self-expression.

They enjoy work that is aligned to their deeply felt values and tend to strongly dislike the more practical and mundane forms of tasks. They can enjoy working alone for long periods of time and are happiest when they can immerse themselves in personally meaningful projects.

Don't you hate it when those darned evil... er, good doppelgangers come out to play?

ENTJ? I'm an INTJ myself. Is there some sort of "NTJ Rule" for female engineers?

I think HR weeds you out if you're not an NTJ as a female engineer. I think it matters more than ABET accreditation :) I have NO idea where the INFP outlier comes from, must be lurking deep in my subconscious somewhere.

I'm not surprised that motherhood has changed your Myers-Briggs profile! I had the same thing happen. For years I'd tested as an INFJ, and ten years after my daughter was born a post-grad course testing read me as ISFJ. A softer and gentler human being. I like it! Let us know how things change for you after years of homeschooling!

INTP - The Thinkers

Christine:
I liked the ENTJ profile and identified with it. It may not be a total shocker that my profile has since changed, but that it was almost COMPLETELY different was startling!! I do know that I've kind of "circled the wagons" in some ways and have been less social (so that explains the E turning into an I), but the rest baffle me.

If I had Photo Shop, I'd put your head on Rodin's Thinker. Question is, however, what is it that you are thinking?

Do HR people really use Myers-Briggs in making employment decisions?

Isn't that somewhat subjective?

Particularly with a blog like mine where most of the writing is done by others.

Mine was somewhat off too. I consistently test ENTP, but my blog
was ESFP (the Performers) - somewhat right - BUT I LOVE confrontation and arguments *in the right setting.* [But only under certain conditions!)
