After a long hiatus, WKJ has returned. If you haven't played before, just imagine yourself standing along side Sean Connery; you can do this!
Category: CountriesKnown as Mary's Dowry, Pope Leo XIII recalled, "the 'wonderful filial love which burnt within the hearts of your forefathers towards the get Mother of God...to whose service they consecrated themselves with such abundant proofs of devotion, that the [country] itself acquired the singular title of Mary's Dowry." St. Alex says, please place your answer in the form of a question in the combox, and say a few Hail Marys while you wait for the answer to be revealed.
Demerits for using Google and other sneaky searches. Educated guesses are welcome and encouraged. Good luck!!
The first correct answer in the form of a question wins the highly coveted WKJ ribbon to display on your blog, cubicle or refrigerator door.

Is it England? (I'm thinking of Walsingham...)
I thought you were banned from playing ;) Yes, it is England. I'm going to some garage sales and will try to think up another one! Congrats, AA!! Your papal tiara has no room to expand!
Here's one, especially for our poor friends along the Gulf Coast:
Although only recognised as a blessed, this person is the patron "saint" of
* ecologists
* environmentalists
* exiles
* loss of parents
* people ridiculed for their piety
Who is this person?
(This would probably be a "Daily Double" question on the "Double Jeopardy" section of the game.)
Thanks, AA. Anyone have the answer?
Doh! I knew that one.
AA: I don't know; all I know is you are unbelievable as WKJ champ!
Clue 1:
The Blessed's Shrine is in New York State near where they lived, but this person is buried in Quebec Province in Canada
Clue 2 & 3:
When she converted, she took the name of a Dominican Saint (who was later named a Doctor of the Church), and was the Blessed was baptized by French Jesuits shortly after the martyrdom of Isaaac Jogues, SJ
I think I know this one...we ask this Blessed for her intercession each night. Is it Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha?
Ah! Swissy has earned all the indulgences and blessing that St. Alex of Trebek and Blessed Art of Fleming can bestow! Blessed Kateri is indeed the answer! (Some of the references I've accessed claim that "Tekakwitha" is Mohawk for "she who bumps into things", given to her because of her poor eyesight caused by smallpox. I wonder if that makes her the patron saint for us klutzes?)
